General Information

A: We accept children from 6 weeks old to age 5. Our curriculum is tailored to nurture every stage of development and prepare children for kindergarten and beyond.

A: We are open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

A: We are an early childhood learning center offering both daycare services and structured, play-based educational programs in a safe, nurturing environment.

A: We maintain low student-to-teacher ratios to provide individualized attention:

  • Infants: 1:3  (state standard is 1:4) 
  • Toddlers: 1:4
  • Pre-K I: 1:10
  • Pre-K II: 1:12

A: Yes, certain age groups may have a waitlist. Please contact us to check availability or join the waitlist.

A: Tuition at Great Beginnings Academy (GBA) covers:

  • Daily educational programming and enrichment activities
  • Enrichment programs like music, art, yoga, and outdoor play
  • Lunch on Mondays
  • Special events, holidays, and visits from guest presenters

A: Yes, we offer a 5% discount for siblings and support for military families.

A: Yes, Great Beginnings Academy proudly accepts NORWESCAP child care assistance.

Curriculum & Daily Activities

A: We use the “Creative Curriculum,” a play-based, child-centered approach designed to foster physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth through hands-on learning.

A: Our teachers observe and document each child’s progress daily. We maintain regular communication with parents to meet developmental milestones collaboratively.

A: A typical day includes a mix of structured group activities and free play, including:

  • Morning welcome and circle time.
  • Learning centers focus on literacy, math, creative arts and free play.
  • Outdoor play for physical development.
  • Quiet/nap time to help children rest and recharge.
  • Enrichment activities such as music, movement, or nature exploration.

Health & Safety

A: Yes, we are a peanut and tree-nut-free facility to ensure the safety of all children in our care.

A: Safety is our top priority. Here are a few of the measures we take:

  • Daily disinfection and professional cleaning
  • Staff trained in CPR, First Aid, and EpiPen usage
  • Secure check-in/out system with no parent access codes
  • Emergency preparedness training for staff

A: Please notify us if your child is unwell. If they develop symptoms during the day, we will monitor them closely and contact you as needed.

A: A child with a fever of 100.4°F or higher must stay home and be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning.

Meals & Nutrition

A: Parents should provide lunch and two snacks daily. We provide snacks or treats on special occasions, and parents will be notified in advance.

A: Yes, we work with families to accommodate allergies and dietary needs. Please share any specific requirements during enrollment.

A: Food warming is available for infants and toddlers in the Duckling classroom.

Communication & Parent Involvement

A: We believe in open and consistent communication. Teachers provide daily updates via email or our app, and we schedule parent-teacher conferences to discuss your child’s progress. We are also available to chat during pick-up/drop-off times.

A: Yes, but please note that visits may upset or distract children in the classroom, including your own.

A: We love involving parents in our community! Parents can participate in special events, storytime readings, or holiday activities. If you’re interested in volunteering, please let us know. You will receive a parent volunteer sign-up sheet when you enroll.

Special Programs & Events

A: Yes! Our Summer Program is packed with fun-filled themes, including water play, nature exploration, and special guests like our favorite local fire truck for the annual hose-down. It’s a beautiful way for children to stay engaged and active all summer long!

A: We currently serve children from infancy to age 5 and do not offer after-school programs for older children.

A: We create magical memories with themed crafts, special activities, and family-friendly events throughout the year.
